Mabins
The corner of the drive was once home to a corrugated garage. The clients requested a dry and safe place for their vehicles whilst maximising storage and providing space for a workshop or office.
Working to architect drawings, we developed a two floor new building, with a structural blockwork ground floor and a timber frame second level. This second floor incorporated a large glulam beam which gives the building considerable strength and has a great architectural appearance thus ensuring the client’s request for open plan storage was met.
The new garage sits in the client’s garden and so a natural and sympathetic aesthetic was of vital importance. The building was fitted with handmade hardwood windows, a natural slate roof and the external walls were cladded with cedar. Top of the range German automatic doors were fitted and a bespoke external staircase completed the build. By combining natural materials and state of the art technology, this building achieves the client’s aims of providing vehicle storage and an office space whilst blending into the background of their garden.
